Extend the Life of Your Salt System.

Professional Salt Cell Inspection & Acid Washing

Is your "Check Cell" or "Inspect Cell" light flashing? Before you go buy a new expensive salt generator, let us clean the one you have. Saltwater pools are low maintenance, but the salt cell itself requires regular care to keep functioning. Over time, calcium scale builds up on the titanium plates inside the unit, reducing chlorine production and straining your equipment.

Why Clean Your Salt Cell?

A dirty salt cell cannot produce chlorine efficiently. If neglected, the calcium buildup acts like an insulator, preventing the electricity from reacting with the salt
  • Avoid Early Replacement: Salt cells are the most expensive component of your pool system. Regular cleaning can add years to their lifespan.

Fix False Readings: A calcified cell often triggers a "Low Salt" reading, causing homeowners to dump bags of salt they don't actually need.
  • Restore Chlorine Output: A clean cell generates sanitizer at 100% capacity, keeping your water clear and algae-free.

Our Cleaning Process

Handling muriatic acid can be dangerous and creates harsh fumes. We handle the hazardous materials safely so you don't have to.
  1. System Shutdown: We safely power down the automation and salt control center.
  2. Removal & Inspection: We remove the cell and inspect the plates for scale, debris, or physical damage.
  3. Acid Wash: We use a precise mixture of water and muriatic acid to dissolve calcium deposits without stripping the delicate coating on the blades.
  4. Re-Installation: We grease the O-rings, reinstall the unit, check for leaks, and reset the control board indicators.

When Should This Be Done?

Most manufacturers recommend inspecting and cleaning the cell every 3 months.
  • Heavy Usage Season: Every 90 days.
  • Minimum: At least once per year (usually at closing or opening).
A Note on Dead Cells: Cleaning removes calcium, but it cannot fix a cell that has reached the end of its life (usually 5–7 years). If we clean your cell and it still fails to produce chlorine, we can provide a quote for a replacement unit.
