Installation — No Pipe Cutting, No Plumber Needed

Turn Off Pump

Shut off the pump and relieve pressure. Set the existing valve handle to Recirculate or Filter before disassembly.

Remove Old Top

Unscrew the collar ring holding the top assembly to the valve body — no plumbing disconnection needed.

Drop In New Assembly

Seat the new SPX0714 top assembly onto the existing valve body, aligning the tabs correctly before threading the collar ring back on.

Test & Run

Restart the pump, check for leaks around the new assembly, and cycle through all valve positions to confirm smooth operation.

💡 Pro Tip — Never Turn the Handle While the Pump Is Running. Always shut the pump off completely before rotating the multiport valve handle to a new position. Switching positions under pressure can tear the new spider gasket immediately — the most common reason a freshly replaced valve leaks right away. Turn pump off, switch position, then restart.
