💡 Always Size Up When In Doubt. A salt cell running at 100% output all season long wears faster and produces inconsistent chlorine levels during peak heat. When your pool volume is close to a model's rated maximum — or if you have a spa, water features, or heavy bather load — choose the next size up. A larger cell running at 70–80% capacity lasts longer and maintains more consistent water chemistry than a smaller cell working at its limit.

Installation & Operation

🔧 Professional Installation — What's Involved

Plumbing — Last in Line

The S3 cell must be installed last in the equipment plumbing sequence — after the heater. This prevents concentrated chlorine from sitting inside your heater's heat exchanger and causing corrosion damage.

Electrical — Dual Voltage

The power center accepts both 120V and 240V and must be properly grounded and bonded to local electrical code. All electrical work is completed by our team at installation.

Salt Level — 3,200 PPM

Optimal performance requires a salt level of approximately 3,200 ppm. Your startup salt bags are included with purchase — we add the initial salt charge and calibrate the system at installation.

🔄 Reverse Polarity Self-Cleaning Technology. The AquaRite S3 automatically reverses the electrical polarity of the cell plates on a timed cycle — loosening calcium deposits before they can build up and reduce chlorine output. This significantly extends cell life and reduces manual cleaning frequency compared to older fixed-polarity systems. Regular inspection is still recommended, but heavy scale buildup is much less common with the S3's self-cleaning design.

❄️ NEPA Winterization — Remove the Cell Every Fall. Northeast Pennsylvania winters are too harsh for salt cells left in the plumbing. Freezing temperatures can crack the cell housing and damage the internal sensors. We recommend removing the T-CELL-S3 each fall and installing a dummy pipe or winter plug in its place. Proper winterization of your salt system is part of our pool closing service — ask us to include it when scheduling your closing.

🏆 3-Year Limited Warranty — Power Center & Cell. The AquaRite S3 system carries a 3-year limited warranty on both the power center and the salt cell when installed by a pool professional. This covers three full Northeast Pennsylvania pool seasons.
